Is this possible ? Can we talk ?

  7. Christopher says:

  8. Valentine Echezona says:

@17:58pm today l was listening to Cnn and your foundation came up. To be sincere, l was expecting to hear names that always re-occure in our country but to my dismay yours came up. Your foundation touched me because you happened to be one Nigerian phillantropist who with all the money never made noise in public. This ids my first time of hearing the name Alakija.
Anyway, my interest focussed more because l am doing social work in london university although l have done quite a lot and worked in this field and appreciate your creativeness in trying to help people in need our society. l will also use this opporturnity to appeal to you to extend your hand to Anambra State. We are an igbo society but weak in doing what you are currently doing. Nigeria will be a much better place if people like you that empower others. will keep an eye on Rose of Sharon and might use some of your projects or programmes in my thesis. Thanks

  9. I cried a little watching Sister Alakija on CNN today from the comfort on my home here in Switzerland and I thought why is it that Nigeria is not endowed with many of such people like this woman. My own mother became a widow in Nigeria in 1971 and I could empathize with the world of these vulnerable group in a dislocated Nigeria. Why reinvent the wheel? Interested people like me should just donate whatever help to assist widows and children that the ROSF is helping so that the work can go around Nigeria. I’ll call you soon but I must say that Sis.Folorunso spoke with such elegance and pride on African Voices today and that makes all of us very proud. The Lord bless you and your family.

  10. Maria Fatima says:

Dear Mrs Folorunso Alakija, and All.
I wonder if not by God’s Providence I was watching program about your life and about The Rose of Sharon Foundation. Nothing is happening by accident.

I’m myself widow for over 21 yrs, and raised my 2 boys since they were very young. I rear them by myself, but I was depending on God, Heavenly helpers and prayers, begging for strength, encouragement and inspirations up to this day. Now, they are well educated adults ( dentist, senior computer programmer ), raising own families.

Since childhood I had visions of working in Africa, still have it. At present, I’m mature woman, still young and energetic, have university degree in nursing and experience across age, varies specialties, obtained in USA.
I’m very interested in work of your foundation, and I would love to share my personal and professional experience, faith, special love for people and many more gifts, given to me by God in abundance, which are not for me, but to be passed to those in need for the Glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Recently, I was fallowing closely what is happening in Nigeria, country of “milk and honey” and so much suffering.
I would like to visit your country, Lagos to meet you, discuss possibilities and options and maybe to open new horizons for foundation.
Because my sons will be worry about my safety please send to my email my options and all what is required for American citizen to enter your country, an invitation if needed. Of course I’ll try to call using phone numbers provided above.
    Sincere Maria

Hi Daniel, The foundation only caters for the needs of widows and orphans

  12. Dear all,
I have seen one of your interventions on CNN last week and I was impressed, touched by the aims and the actions your organization develops. I tried to reach you but I received no feedback.
I am a Romanian citizen, consultant for several youth organizations in Romania dealing with Projects within Youth in Action Programme and I am hereby writting to you to chzck whether you may be interested to host European volunteers from Romania? Given the type of the activities you develop, the needs and the heartwhole efforts that you have proven so far for your local communities I decided to consider you as potential partner in the future, if you agree and if your community is interested and open to volunteering actions, we may think of writting a project together.
If interested please let me know and we will try to provide you the information needed to understand the type of partnership we need and identify common grounds.

    Yours faithfully,

Good day Thank you for reading my mail. I am a female South African and wish to move to Nigeria. Lack of funds is making this impossible. Is there any company or individuals who might be able to assist me with funds. I am prepared to pay it back as soon as my company which I plan to start with a friend living there is up and running. I will also do any other work to pay back my debt. My friend who is an honest hard working Nigerian has a business plan. We will teach children and adults to become literate as well as teach them computer skills. It is my heartfelt wish to set up roots in your country. I pray that you consider my request. I look forward to making a difference, even if it is small, to the lives of the people there. Than you for taking the time to read my mail. I await your favorable comments. God Bless. Dear Sir,
LETTER OF INTRODUCTION: HEALTHCARE INTERN PLANS
We wish to introduce our company, HEALTHCARE INTERNATIONAL, and our product, HEALTHCARE INTERNATIONAL PLANS to you.
Healthcare International is a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), with the sole objective of bringing medical services to all strata of the society at affordable rates. In partnership with some renowned international Health Insurance Companies and evacuation consultants, Healthcare International also offers International medical Insurance Services, as well as Medical Short Trips Abroad.
The benefits of a 24-hours access to medical services, both locally and worldwide at affordable rates, which could be approximately budgeted for without major variations, cannot be overemphasized. Just to mention that there are very few people with a heart like yours ma. If the world had more people like you it would be way better….. God knows to bless people who are well meaning. In Zambia we have so many widows and Orphans yet the government does little or nothing to help…. privaledged individuals do not help either… i know of the suffering of widows because my mother is a widow as well. She suffered many misfortunes and it hurts. she was a secretary then begun running a TOTAL Filling Station as a small dealer but they prematurely terminated and breached the contract by grabing the Gas station from her. She sued them and the matter has been in court for over 8 years and she cannot even afford legal fees anymore. Our Court system is somewhat corrupt because the government controls the judiciary. To see how you succeeded in court against the Nigerian government is trully inspiring to me. I am a Law student and love fashion and hope one day to attain your levels of success and make a difference. God Bless you abundantly!!!

I am a struggling 29 year old African-American graduate student within the Health Services Administration program that has been looking for full-time employment for a year. I have had to move back in with my elderly parents and try to help them with their bills as well as mines. Everyday is an extreme struggle with trying to find money to pay bill collectors. I am a resident of the United States and I admire what your organization is focusing on within the country of Nigeria. If I were nearer, I would desire the opportunity to work within your organization. A donation in any amount would be greatly appreciated. May God continue to bless your organization and all of the work that you do.

  58. Tammia Ware says:

Dear Mrs. Folorunsho, first I would like to say that you are an awesome woman empowering widows and orphans during challenging times. When I first read about you and how you have accomplish over the years, of course my heart was throbbing. I wish I had the knowledge you were born with. Since the age of nine, I have always gave my hands to those how couldn’t raise theirs. For many years at 9 years old, I would go door to door in my neighborhood, mainly elderally, take orders for fresh bread at a bakery in the neighborhood. I am 50 years old, been at my employment for 21 years and the pay sucks. My passion is helping elderally women live and enjoy the rest of there time on this earth.. My neighbor adopted a girl from an orphan 19 years ago, I donated every piece of clothing and shoes my daughter out grown to her as a love donation. I wish I could come off my job and become an elderally advocate. I also wish I had the funds to start an organic garden, very great with my hands. I love assisting those who unfortunately can’t assist themselves. Please forward my email to Mrs. Folorunsho.

  59. Tammia Ware says:

Mrs. Folorunsho, my name is Tammia Ware, I am from the United States. Would you like to support my idea or raising an organic garden? I live on 3 acres of land along with my daughter who is handicap. Please help me, I am a hard working mother, veteran and assistant teacher.

  61. Good day and God bless you for wetting the ground with some of the showers which the heavens have poured on your land.

I have tried to reach you but I could not get through, and decided to post here.

I urgently seek your help for my friend. He was my classmate in secondary school, and his name is Ekundayo Oluwatoyin Odueso. He is a sickle-cell anemia patient (sickler) and now, his kidneys have been infected and so he needs to undergo a kidney transplant and because of his sickler status, which was why he got infected in the first place, he also needs a stem cell transplant.

Dayo is an orphan who against all odds made it through school and finished from Lagos State University. He has started working with a company in Lagos, but he lost his job due to his illness. I was alerted to his condition via a broadcast message his cousin sent. Instead of re-typing the events that followed, I would post the Broadcast message I afterwards composed and sent out right below.

    This time, it’s personal…………………

Ekundayo Oluwatoyin Odueso was my classmate. Our school was majorly a boarding school, so we lived, ate and played together, literally.

His nickname was Ronaldo (Got the name from Ronaldo the footballer, not because of his skills but that physical feature we all know Ronaldo for) and everyone including the staff called him Ronaldo, not many people even knew his real name.

He was Funn with a Y! He could have you in stitches just by looking at him (yes he was that funny). Happy-go-lucky dude, didn’t have so many serious moments(this is someone who is a sickler!). He hardly got angry (I mean he answered the name Ronaldo cos of his teeth!)

Now, I switched on my phone this morning to find a BC about Ronaldo saying he had been on Lagos TV to seek financial assistance because his kidneys aren’t functioning properly! Immediately, my heart starts to pound, I go on Yahoo messenger, and he’s not there (not like I expected him to be), I go on Facebook, took his mobile and called him. Ronaldo ( I mean that guy who doesn’t take things seriously) asks me if it is not better to die than be in these pains ! It all started last year, but he kept it quiet. The dude has no father, and no mother, he’s a sickler (which is why he got infected in d first place and has to undergo not one, but two surgeries), he needs about 6million naira for the 2 surgeries in India. Now, if that doesn’t depress even the sparky Sanguine, nothing else can.

I asked him to leave the dying business for now and send me his acct. no, so I can do this. Yes, I don’t have any big or moving words to use at this point, or I simply do not have the strength, just want Ronaldo to be fine…Even N500 is not small at all! If you can, pls do, and by the power that resides on the throne of Grace, you will not lack help when you need it…2002920931…Odueso Akinola (Zenith)…PLS Re-BC…Your prayers are extremely important too. Thank you, God bless you.

    Omotola Matesun

I also created a group on Facebook for this cause, and put posts on twitter. Friends and other schoolmates of our also joined in, God bless their souls, after this BC, people started sending in their widow’s mite. But as it is now, all of it have gone on Dialysis (he undergoes a dialysis every 5 days), and as at yesterday, he was due for another dialysis and all the funds are gone. We don’t have anything again!

Pls and Pls, in God’s name, help us save him. He himself is loosing hope in life, but although, sincerely, my efforts have gotten frustrated too, I’m still asking him to put his trust in our God who has never failed anyone.

I stumbled across this foundation as I was surfing the net desperatly seeking help after we realized yesterday that there isn’t even any funds for his dialysis.

We have all the proof that may be required to attest to the authenticity of this situation, including his medical report from the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, Dialysis receipts and bill sent from India.

Thank you and God bless you.

  62. Canute says:

Do you have an email address?

  63. Good day. And may God bless you more abundantly for wetting the ground with part of the showers the heavens have poured on your land.
Ekundayo Oluwatoyin Odueso was my classmate. Our school was majorly a boarding school, so we lived, ate and played together, literally.

But so far, all of those funds have been expended on Dialysis (He undergoes dialysis every 5 days now), and but for the help of an organization who paid for his outstanding fees and yesterday’s dialysis, he would not have gotten treated, because he was already refused.
Dayo against all life had dealt him forged ahead and made something of himself. He finished from Lagos State University, and had already started working with a company in Lagos before he lost the job to this illness. And right now, he’s already loosing hope. Please I do beg in the name of God, we will appreciate any help that can be rendered to save his life, and may you not lack help when you need it.
We have all the proof needed for verification of the authenticity of this story, including his medical report from the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, his dialysis bills, and the hospital bill from India.
Thanks in anticipation and God bless you immensely.

I am an indigene of ikorodu and I’m proud to know that you are from this graceful town and you are much appreciated for putting this part of the world on a global point of view and I want to say more power to your elbow.
Ma, I want you to help my mother who has been a single mother since my father died while I was 3years of age, she has been struggling to take care of me and my siblings since. She has a company (NAOMA travels and tours)that she is running by herself which deals with taking pilgrims from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage. There is a problem that she is facing for over 3years with the government of Nigeria, she was told to purchase the certificate of international airport transport association (IATA) which costs about 8million naira and this will give her the opportunity to get allocations from the government.
Please Ma, I will be eternally grateful if there is any assistance that you can render to her.

God Bless.
